Starting at Thanksgiving and going through the new year, "popup" holiday markets can be found in several NYC neighborhoods.
While Bryant Park (with ice skating!) and Grand Central Station are two popular holiday markets we always take time to visit, a smaller, interesting holiday market is located in Columbus Circle bordering Central Park.
Enjoyable during the day, of course...but when evening arrives with the twinking lights, this is a gorgeous market to walk through to discover local artisans and pick up some one-of-a-kind gifts.

It's located close to well-known restaurants and if you're feeling adventurous, keep walking uptown for a neighborhood stroll. Continue uptown via Columbus Avenue, CPW or Broadway and enjoy the elegant peacefulness of the Upper West Side streets.
(Two of our favorite restaurants are Landmark at Columbus Circle and Patsy's Pizza on the UWS.
